Christmas Gifts That Make A Difference - Burger King Or Uganda Baptist Seminary
Our government is spending millions to station our special forces in Uganda to help the government there capture Joseph Kony and try to bring an end to the kidnapping of children by the Lord's Resistance Army. Millions of dollars are spent by the UN every year to try to bring food, medical, and government aid to try to stabilize this region of the world.
A small seminary, right in the middle of it all is operating on a budget that most families in the US would find difficult to live on. The men and women who go there are trained to take the Gospel of Peace into all those countries where none of us could go. They are loving, feeding, preaching, and caring for tens of thousands of lost souls.
In the past 5 years, over 100,000 people have come to believe as a result of the preaching of the Gospel by students of Uganda Baptist Seminary, Jinja, Uganda, on the shores of Lake Victoria in Central Africa. Students come from Congo, Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and other central African nations. They learn the word and they carry it back with them to their homes. They have established hundreds of churches, preached to hundreds of thousands.
And, get this, it costs each student only $35 per term to do it. Where could you go to seminary for $35 a term? Now, put that in perspective. According to the US government, the average Ugandan makes $3 per day. A year of education would cost a Ugandan nearly two-month's wages. For you . . . well, you could barely buy your family of four a meal at Burger King for $35.
I have been to the campus, met with the professors and students. I have seen the fruit of their labor, the lost souls who now know Jesus. Go to Burger King or give to UBS. Find out how you can help. Check out their website at Uganda Baptist Seminary.
