Christmas Gifts That Make A Difference - Compassion vs. Popeye's Chicken

Yesterday my wife and I bought two chicken strip dinners from Popeye's chicken. The total . . . $17.71.  One mediocre meal for two people. Do the math. If we do that once a week, it's about $70 a month. You can eat Popeye's once a week, or you could provide support for two children so that they could live to adulthood and have the opportunity to come to know Jesus Christ.

What began in 1952 as a Christian Orphanage ministry in Korea has become Compassion International is a ministry which, in response to the Great Commission, exists as an advocate for children, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty with the goal of enabling them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.

To really understand what a $38 monthly gift can mean, you should read more about Violet, a young Maasai girl in Kenya.  Click on her name and read her story.  Then you decide for yourself what makes a bigger difference - a few meals of friend chicken or sponsoring a child.
